Double Sided Sray Mop
Bold idea for a slim mop

Sometimes it is good to come later to the war field. In the Spray mops case, we went to the battle reacting to what had been established in the market. Big players took the wall spaces in the big boxes with those robust and bulky products. So when I was requested to design Casabella's Spray Mop, I thought of two approaches to be different in this environment.
The first was to have a very slim profile. Then, I designed the bottle to have a recess allowing the mop pole to pass through its footprint. This way, while the competition was punting three products at most, we could put 6 of them in the same wall hook. Also, the number of goods in the container was much more significant.
The second idea was that the consumer buys one mop and gets two. This idea was possible because of the double-sided head I designed. A courageous straight handle achieved this when at the time, a cane handle shape was typical. Coming along was the front head nozzle. With the nozzle in this position and the symmetric handle, the consumer could flip the mop and spray it without getting wet feet.
